"We got this party by the balls" Tariq exclaimed with a gleeful smile, looking every bit the pirate that he is... Adorned with long serrated knives, a sharp axe, and as many trinkets and useful implements than you could shake a stick at! The festival got cancelled at the last minute, so we saved it ! DJ's had flown in from around the world, speakers as big as a house lined the back of two large dance arenas, and all sat unused. When the forest department stopped it at the last second, no one knew what was going on, or what to do. The authorities also closed their restaurant, and so there was no music and no food. All 500 of us together, virtually stranded.. many many miles from any town , in the middle of pristine pine forest and beautiful nature. Luckily, fate and good fortune were in control, and four of us, as if by magic, had everything we needed to make this party happen!
Tariq happened to bring a very competent BOSE speaker, one that works without power for many hours on end. He also happened to have a fair few solar powered lights, wires, cables, and power banks. Francesca, a fairy queen in her own right was my Pizza Cats Partner, and between us we had enough ingredients to make 100's of pizzas. We brought our own gas, cookers, pots and pans, and were all excited to start making pizzas for everyone. We quickly realised that the main party shut down was going to mean a lot of people would be hungry, and many were coming down to our chill out area to see what was going on . It was hard to miss! Tariq our resident pirate had discovered an old sign and painted it with PIZZA CATS, big enough to ensure that even the bleary eyed reveller would not miss us.
I DJd for half of the party.. luckily i had some very nice playlists lined up on my phone, and that kept everything going for a very long time! There were times i forgot I was DJing!
On the second night it was clear that the main party was never going to happen, and several DJ's who were supposed to play the real festival were getting itchy fingers! We had power delivered by then with a few wires from the grid, and before we knew it we had DJ;s all begging us to let them play on our tiny, but now very important speaker! We began with Jungle Queen, a young and very hip Russian lady who happily sat on the grass next to our stall. The crowd watched as she set up her laptop and DJ tools. Around 400 people started to get excited.. because they knew Jungle Queen could deliver them what they really really wanted... and what I could not... Proper high tech crazy Trance!

We went for 4 days and nights, with not much sleep. The pizzas just got better and better, and even I had to confess that they were better than i had eaten in any establishment for a very long time. The most priceless moment was when one young Indian woman bit into her first slice. Her eyebrows raised high and her eyes opened wide! "Oh my fucking god" she exclaimed as it dawned on her that this was some damn fine pizza. She said nothing more, that said it all! The challenge was met. Could we make hundreds of pizzas for people, with no oven? Damn right we could! Mission accomplished, and then some!
This was a test in many ways.. This party was everything I wanted to see in our ecoVillage party. It was small, intimate, mostly off-grid, and full of beautiful people from all over the world. We all make it work with love and natural giving. The Pizza Cats team, Francesca, Tariq, Medi and I worked in perfect harmony the whole time.. each doing what we wanted and when we wanted. There was no pressure, no conflict, no stress.. It was perfect!.. Perfect Pizza, full of love and amazing grace!
Now, just returned and Im scratching my head! I go for 5 minutes and someone sells Steemit! lol.. I can't say i know how this will turn out.. but let me just say that if a company wants to spend millions of dollars on it, that is a good sign! Let's see where this all goes. .. and for now.. lets just keep doing what we have been doing.. sharing, posting, making new connections.. and maybe a bit of pocket money.. oh and when things seem to stressful out here, go n party!!!
Here's a few photos of the event.. i couldn’t get many from the night as it was too dark.. but these are some fun day time shots..<3
