One in a while I like to post something deep, spiritual, and inspiring. When we speak of equality we normally think about things like rights, ownership, what possessions we have etc.. This type of equality is based purely on Maya (materialism), and comes from a place of separation and disconnection. However, there is another kind of equality that we can all obtain today, and that is the thought that I would like to share with you today.

REAL EQUALITY

"Real equality amongst people must be achieved not by equal distribution of material gains but by the cultivation of selfless love, which promotes a sense of Divinity that is inherent in all beings. Look beyond materialism to the Supreme Being who is the provider of all things.

When you recognise the One as present in all beings and respect everyone as a manifestation of the Divine, you will achieve equality in the true sense. Internalise the fact that this body is given to you for performing selfless service. Also understand that nothing in creation is intended for the exclusive use of any one person.

We should thus discard the feeling: "These things have been given for my exclusive use, they are my own. Ancient sages emphasised the importance of Karma Yoga, that is, the discharge of one's duties in life in a dedicated spirit. Through Karma Yoga you must achieve sense-control and develop the qualities of universal love, forbearance and compassion."
