DEPRESSION
Most people around the world are going through a lot currently and one of the things is DEPRESSION. The simple definition I can give for DEPRESSION is the state at which you feel unhappy, hopeless and neglected.You may be Wondering if you have depression at all or if so what type you have.I have gone through this and I can tell you that there's a SOLUTION to it.In this little write up,I will let you all know the CAUSES OF DEPRESSION, SYMPTOMS OF DEPRESSION and HOW TO OVERCOME DEPRESSION.
CAUSES OF DEPRESSION
Lots of things can increase the chance of depression, including the following:
Peer pressure: most people go into depression when they see that their friends are making it in life while they're still struggling with Life challenges, most especially in my country Nigeria once you see your childhood friend succeeding while you're still stagnant you will feel unhappy and always thinking on how to also make it without you knowing that there's time for everything.it might be your friend time and not yours.Through that thinking you can go into depression.
Abuse: Emotional, Sexual and physical abuse makes people vulnerable to depression most especially when you're physically or emotionally abuse.
Death or loss of loved ones: Death or loss of loved ones can also cause depression, this happens mostly when you think about the memories you and the person spent together.
Life Events: Such as having a good relationship, getting a well paid job, Graduating, getting married can also cause depression, why? Along the line things can fall apart like losing a job or income, breakups, getting divorced.
Personality:Some people may be more at risk of depression because of their personality, particularly if they are the kind of person that worry a lot and have low self-esteem.
SYMPTOMS OF DEPRESSION
Feeling hopelessness or neglected.
Having the mind set of taking your life or commiting suicide.
Feeling Sad
Loneliness
Having sleepless night
HOW TO OVERCOME DEPRESSION
Contentment: from experience I believe being contented with what you have is one of the ways of overcoming depression, when you feel happy and satisfied with the little you have you won't be bothered with another person's progress instead you work harder.
Prayer:
There's a saying in Nigeria that "if everything is turning out good for you PRAY!and if everything is turning out bad for you,all you have to do is to PRAY.i do believe that there's nothing prayer can't solve as a Christian or Muslim if you are having the symptoms listed above,all you have to do is to Pray about it and believe me you will be saved From depression and also have the power over it.
At the end of it all guys,I hope I have been able to tell you a little from my experience with DEPRESSION. It's deadly and can bring you down if you don't act fast about it.Try and check yourself if you're not going through this and if you're going through it, it's not the end of the world there are several solutions to it medically, visit your doctor to get more enlightened about it.
