Hey everyone!
As usual these times; long time, no see!
Celebrating winter solstice and darkest day of the year in Friskoven
The year 2019 is almost over.. It's been a crazy year with a lot of things happening and a lot of things still waiting, wanting to happen.. Like getting a home for example...
I've been a nomad for many years, but after emerging myself in this village project and the local community on this (pretty winter-cold) island, a home starts to be a crucial thing.
I have been hopping a bit around with friend's lately, which has been super nice as well, and I remember to appreciate these times too!
Like right now I am staying in my good friend's house, who are away for holidays, and I suddenly have the luxury of a whole big house on the coast, overlooking the sea! How amazing is that!
-Oh I have such a great sunrise photo on my camera too, but cannot upload it, since I left my card reader at my other friend's house - that's the thing, all my stuff is spread all over the place, far and wide, and that creates a bit of chaotic feeling inside - since I apparently still identify with my things.. ;)
So yes, this is where I am and probably will be for a while until I get a base of my own.
And how is that going..??
Yeah.. well..
So we have this Friskoven eco village project going on still! Yes.. And things are moving! But slowly still.
The group is still trying to find itself, but I feel it is getting there so much more now!
In November two new groups joined the project! What a life saver!
Most of the people who was involved in the summer left when autumn came, and I was suddenly almost alone and feeling very overwhelmed and worn out about the whole thing. I simply couldn't carry it all alone, though other people were still technically involved, most of the time I was still all alone in the forest, with my son who didn't really think it was the greatest place to be..
But then these new people came - first a family who are now living on the land, creating life, building a sauna and being absolutely awesome!
And then came Shanto and his daughter Leah from Sweden. Shanto helped me lift that brick I just couldn't lift by myself - to get the group together to form our shared vision, get it formulated, written down and send out there! We are not quite there yet though ;) - but we have sat together a few times, discussing how to facilitate a meeting, which questions to consider and have created an invitation to the other members to come and create together, this shared vision, so we can move towards it!
We will meet the 2nd of February in the new year.
And yes the home...
I got this trailer, or my dad paid for it, and I got it and started building on it. The idea was that he will have it as a summer house and maybe I can use it until i have a more permanent housing situation.
But a lot had to be done - We almost bought a fully equipped, ready to move into trailer, but it was 100% set up for electricity, which we don't have on the land yet, so I thought getting this one, which was basically to be emptied and rebuild completely, was a better idea.. so we (I) could make it as I wanted.
I am not sure it was the best idea, because I don't really have time or much knowledge, so it has been a bit harder than imagined!
But with Roberto's help, we put in a new biiiig window and now just left to put a new floor, a fire stove, kitchen and bed (...)
And then I realised how helpless I am. I don't know anything about building. And I want to build a house..!
So I decided to apply for carpenter school! In that way I will both learn some skills and get some student benefit income, which are pretty amazing in Denmark! Because, no, I have no money at all, so it will help a bit on my situation in two ways. But not so much on the lack of time. But that's an illusion anyway, isn't it? I have plenty of time and years to realise my dreams..! And home is where the heart is. Then all the material belongings must come after, and probably will organise itself somehow.
