KINDS OF NOUN(اسم کی اقسام)

Following are main types of noun.

1. Proper Noun  (اسم معرفہ)
2. Common Noun   (اسم نکرہ)
3. Collective Noun ( اسم اجتماعی)
4. Material Noun   (اسم مادی)
5. Abstract Noun   (اسم پوشیدہ)
6. Compound Noun  (اسم مرکب)

1) Proper Noun  (اسم معرفہ)

Name of a particular place or person is called proper noun.It is always written with capital letters.

e.g

Quaid-e-Azam,Nepolean,Lahore,Pakistan etc.

2) Common Noun   (اسم نکرہ)

A common noun is the general name of a person,place or things.

e.g

Chair,table,book etc.

3)  Collective Noun ( اسم اجتماعی)

Name given to a collection of things or a group of people or animals regarded as a whole is called collective noun.

e.g

Class,army,team,assembly etc.

4) Material Noun   (اسم مادی)

A word used to name those matter or substance which are used in making things.

e.g

Cotton,wool,gold,silver etc.

5) Abstract Noun   (اسم پوشیدہ)

Abstract noun are those nouns which stands for a concept or an idea which exists in mind only.

e.g

beauty,happiness,worry,anger etc

6) Compound Noun  (اسم مرکب)

Two or more than two words joined together to form the name of one person or thing is called compound noun.

e.g

Class fellow,room mate,lady doctor,grand father,brother-in-law etc.
