Definition: (تعریف)
A word which denotes action is called verb۔
or action of doing verb is called verb۔
ایسا لفظ جو کسی کام کے ہونے یا کرنے کو ظاہر کرے۔
e.g
I get up early in the morning.
My day usually starts with Fajar prayer.

Do doing did done
Come coming came come
Go going went gone
Eat eating ate eaten
Read reading read read
Write writing wrote written
Walk walking walked walked
Sing singing sang sung
KINDS OF VERB:فعل کی اقسام
ACTION VERB:عملی فعل
Action verb is a verb that say something about the subject.
e.g
boys play, mother cooks, girls write, man walks etc
LINKING VERB:
A verb which simply links the subject to its predicates.
e.g
She is eating mango.
He was happy.
They were brave.
You are poor.
We were class fellows.
TRANSITIVE VERB:
A verb which require an object after it to complete a sentence is called transitive verb.
e.g
I ate cake.
He come to school.
Ali bought a book.
He says his prayer five time daily.
INTRANSITIVE VERB:
A verb which does not require an object after it to complete the sense of a sentence.
e.g
The sun shines.
She smiled.
They were laughing.
They stopped immediately .etc.
AUXILIARY VERB:
A helping verb that show the tense,is called auxiliary verb.
e.g
He is going to college. (present)
He was going to college. (past)
He will go to college. (future)
Sentence with one auxiliary :
e.g
She is cooking.
She was cooking. She will cook
Sentence with two auxiliary verb:
e.g
She has been cooking.
Sentence with three auxiliary verb:
e.g
They will have been eating
LEXICAL VERB:
If two or more verb are joined together in to a single verb phrase then first verb is auxiliary and second is lexical verb.
e.g
He has been crying.
the teacher should complete course.
In these examples, has been and should are auxiliary verb while crying and complete are lexical verb.
