Back in the fall I decided to take a course at the college in my town, I went to one class and before deciding it was not something I was actually interested in being 'taught' and didn't go again. I never handed in anything in and I ended up receiving a B+!
The reason for my post is because I feel like the educational system is a joke. They push along students, regardless of if they go, the work they're doing and their knowledge on the subject. As long as the school is getting paid...
We all wonder why there are so many kids that are depressed, suicidal, have low self esteem and have anxiety. This is part of the reason! Nothing that they are 'learning' matters at all, just the paycheck.
Then, to cope with these mental problems from not being happy shuffling through the motions, they go to the doctor for a solution. The doctor prescribes them anti-depressants and other medications to mask the issues at hand. Another paycheck.
The drugged up student is slowly drained of energy, getting into greater debt, while being 'taught' to memorize generally useless knowledge.
Then, when they get out of school, they shuffle along and look for the next paycheck.
