Good news for people who like to get a blockchain specific master degree!!!
In in Mittweida Germany was a Interdisciplinary Blockchain Institute founded.
The Mittweida University has founded last Thursday the "Blockchain Competence Center Mittweida" (BCCM) to further explore the blockchain technology and to be a contact and development partner for companies and institutions.
The BCCM cooperates with major companies such as SAP, IBM, Deutsche Bundesbank, Deutsche Post and many more.
The core themes of the working groups are: Micropayments, Internet of Things, booking systems, digital identities and proof documents. At the university itself, there are also student projects dealing with the blockchain. One of these projects deals with the evaluation of blockchain-based certificates in order to record and manage study credits or exam papers, for example.
Next year, a blockchain specific four semester master's degree course is to be offered "Blockchain & Distributed Ledger Technologies". Mittweida University would thus play a pioneering role in Europe.
This does not mean, however, that there are no courses of study in Germany which are not the subject of blockchain. For example, the Paderborn University offers an intensive examination of the blockchain technology in the Master's degree in computer science. Professor Tibor Jager uses some of the teaching materials at Princeton University, which, alongside Stanford and MIT, is a leader in blockchain research.
