Education is a very important part of our life. All humans need quality education to live a life of their dreams. A beautiful, successful life can be lived if you are educated and able to develop logic. In our society, the meaning of education is limited to schooling, graduation, post-graduation. Every student is supposed to perform in all subjects irrespective of his/her interests or his/her field of expertise. In school, if a student performs good in a subject like history(say) but is unable to solve mathematics questions, then he/she is considered as an average student.
A huge pressure from family is created to perform well in all subjects. The student who can not perform well feels burdened. All his capabilities other than academics are ignored and he is taught that academics is everything and without scoring well he can not achieve anything in life. But is this true?
If this is the truth then how come sportsmen gain this much of fame? How these actors and comedians earn so much wealth and respect? Ronaldo became one of the best football player by studying mathematics or Sachin became God of Cricket by studying science? Priyanka Chopra got to perform in Hollywood by because she was a brilliant student ?
The only answer to all these questions is NO. Sachin and Ronaldo are famous because of their game and not because they studied science and mathematics. Priyanka Chopra is known worldwide for her acting skills and not for her academic results.
Expecting every student to perform in same subjects is very unfair. They should be given a chance to explore the field in which they can give their best. Its high time that we should think about changing Indian Education System. If our government can't think of a better idea then it should follow countries like South Korea, Japan, Singapore where students can explore. Education should be a path which teaches the way of living and not a burden on pupils.
After all education is just a drop of water from the ocean of knowledge. But it covers most of our childhood years. A student spends 12 to 14 years of his life in a school but still many students fail in life. This does not prove that we do not need schools but it proves that their are many loopholes in this system.
How is it possible that you spend 12 years on improving yourself and learning something but you still fail in life. 12 years is a long time to build skills and achieve something. If these 12 years of school life can be changed then their will be no need of these high paying degrees and graduation courses. A child will be exposed to such an environment where he can experiment and work in different fields and then he can realize and find out his/her field of expertise. This type of structure will prove more productive.
