Sometimes music is mysterious like hiding your face behind a veil so only the most devout can achieve the true beauty of the engima. Sometimes its like a city on hill. Today's lesson covers the Pentatonic scale a very common in rock and blues and other things too. The intervals of the major pentatonic scale are 1, b3, 4, 5, b7, 1. The pentatonic comes from an ancient language meaning 5. It is just a stripped down version of larger modes. We will go through recommended positions in the key of c for different pentatonic modes then continue progressing in other ways.
