This time I will to review and share a bit about the discussion discourse about Future Education. Education is one of the basic reference to assess and become a benchmark of the progress of a State and nation. If the education is successful then it will produce statesman and future generations that are superior. If it has superior gegeneration then it can certainly compete with other countries, surely a generation of Broadknowledge, character, and passionate in carrying out life, not an apathetic generation to the problems surrounding it. Something great can come from something small. So do not be afraid to start something good from a small thing to be able to generate great benefits, maybe if we do not feel the benefits now there could be many people out of our knowledge who feel the benefits, can now, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and the generation that will come.
We need to remember the services - the services of the heroes who continue to struggle selflessly for the progress and success of the Indonesian nation. Many heroes are killed in battle only to defend their nation. Subhanalla hopefully they are all glorified beside Him. Nevertheless what they have done is one of the moves for Indonesian independence. So we as the younger generation and the successor of the movement of Indonesia's progress, we should think about how to form a superior generation, one of them through education. There is a question as the beginning of this discussion, only one question but has a positive effect if we really think. And the answer to the question lecturer / tutor I give only requires 3 points in outline only clearly and densely.
"If you were an educator, what would you do for Future Education?"
What occurred to me at the time were three main points;
- Mindset
- Habit
- Character
Here's an explanation of why I underline the 3 points:
1. Mindset
I think there are many mistakes of the Indonesian mindset, then the mindset is the first thing that needs to be improved. Why mindset? Because mindset is the first milestone of any behavior and deed. Man is a thinking creature (R. F. Beerling). Humans can think because it has a brain located in the head. The head is the center of all activity with the tools of the brain. The brain is like a giant computer, in fact this computer can run various jobs without limitation. Because the human brain has a thousand trillion intelligences that if used with the maximum, and will be able to defeat the current sophisticated computer intelligence.
Unfortunately from the thousands and even hundreds of trillions of intelligence possessed by the human brain, only 5% are used to thinking, the rest are asleep and stored neatly. Imagine if our brain is used maximally then we will become khalifatullah extraordinary and versatile. [1]
An object will be of high value if it is still packed, has no defects, is new, and is never worn even touched. Another case with the brain, the human brain will have a high selling power if often used, honed, and in the stimulus to analyze and think. What is happening in Indonesia today is just the opposite, until there is a joke that discusses differences in brains of English, American, Japanese, and Indonesia are clearly different. I think the joke is not just a joke, but it's a reflection that the jokes are the reality of one of the problems in our country and things that need to be fixed.
Realized or not many facts of the wrong mindset and even wrong, so it has become an automatic setting. This happens because there are still many who are lazy to think just because of looking for something practical and instant with the way 'taqlidul-a`ma or can be said follow-follow the habits of the forerunner without knowing the cause - and consequently.
The wrong Mindset problem is also seen from the way things are done, and the behavior. As the future successor of the nation we need to change the mindset of our younger brothers to be better. Of course, by changing the mindset starting from ourselves first.
Here is the presentation of examples that occurred in the world of education (especially in Primary Schools):
Always put off doing something
- Using The Power of kepepet, so the result is not maximal
- Doing homework at school
- Not confident, do not dare to be different, what it is with its own uniqueness, so as not to produce something new according to its version.
Actually there are many examples that are not good if done because over time will become a habit.
2. Habit
Something that runs continuously, repeats itself and becomes an unexpected tradition in its life is a factor in the formation of a habit. The habit is because the mindset is structured over time. Actually good and bad human habits are portrayed by the mindset, because all deeds originated from the mindset. If we want to change bad habits for the better, then something needs to be changed in our own minds with a better mindset.
Habits also arise because the brain that stimulates all movement in our body to do something. If the mindset is controlled by the brain (head) then in terms of habits that play a role is the heart (heart). Hatlah that will determine the habits of man himself, if the brain has to stimulate the whole body to do an act and movement then careful yan serve as filter / filter to choose which he needs to get used and which is not necessary. Because the real habits if already strengthened by his heart, which in the future will be a character.
Keep in mind that a good mindset will produce good habits and create good character too, and if there is a mistake in the mindset it will not get good habits because it is unstable in doing something and will not take root in his heart so as not to create a generation has character.
3. Character
Character has become the subject of our nation's problems, some say that we lack character or poor characters. until the creation of a character set up the 2013 curriculum which tries to implement every teaching with character. Because it is felt so burdensome parties and regions that can not support the run of this curriculum, then at the beginning of December 2014 in a temporary stop by education minister in the cabinet of work, Mr. Anis Baswedan, to be perfected.
Characters can be described in the philosophy of a tree. When we plant a tree then what we expect is a tree that grows firmly and can produce abundant fruit and sweet taste. Similarly, when we plant the seed of goodness in the mindset (Head), then what is expected in our students is able to produce a good character as provision in your life.
Seeds as the forerunner of the trees we have planted, if we pull out when the tree is in growing time it will not take root well, so can not stand firmly and produce fruit that is abundant and sweet. Similarly in humans, the formation of the character rather than instantly and instantly but as Long LIFE Education. The formation of characters that really will produce superior output needs to be addressed early on. Because the characters arise after the habitual habituation.[2]
Actually the three aspects (points) above are continuity with each other. If we really apply it in the world of education it will create a better generation and moral and make Indonesia Great.
