Today I attended my daughter's Odyssey Of Mind final presentation. I was amazed by the effort put in by kids and Teachers !!! I grew up in different country with different set of rules and got a good education. Last year I have seen my daughter learn so much from her amazing teachers at school. Many have written about the broken education system in America
- Parents are not involved enough.
- Schools are closing left and right.
- Our schools are overcrowded.
- Technology comes with its downsides
- There is a lack of diversity in gifted education.
- School spending is stagnant, even in our improving economy
- There is a lack of teacher education innovation.
- 80 percent of students are graduating high school...yet less than half of these students are ready for what's next.
- Some students are lost to the school-to-prison pipeline
- There is a nationwide college-gender gap, and surprisingly, we are not focusing on it.
