The movie "Tucker: the Man and His Dream", is a great example of the trials and tribulations that most entrepreneurs encounter on their expedition of creating something innovative. One of the most important aspects of entrepreneurship is having the characteristic of being adaptive and overcoming multiple obstacles. In the movie, The creator of the vehicle named tucker, had to endure countless attempts of others to change and destroy the dream he made and was pursuing.
As mentioned before, the main topic and point of entrepreneurship that stood out to me while watching the movie was the key characteristics of adaptability. Some may ask, " what is adaptability and how does the correspond in the movie?". Adaptability is the component of an entrepreneur being able to acknowledge a problem, and having the capability of overcoming such conditions. In the movie, Tucker was wanting to build a car that he had always dreamed of. Unfortunately for him, this would not be an easy process. Throughout the entire movie, Tucker was faced with several problems. Even at times where it seemed like there was no chance of prosperity, he was able to adapt and overcome the troubles he faced. This relates to entrepreneurship due to adaptability being one of the main factors when it comes to being an innovator. I think the ideology behind adaptability is very interesting. If there is one thing that all entrepreneurs have in common, it is being able to be adaptive. This is the building blocks that all entrepreneurs build their careers off of.
How was society affected in the movie by Tucker being adaptive? By tucker being able to be adaptive, the world was forever changed by his innovations. He persisted on making leaps that have never been made before. Even with all of the trouble of making lights that turn with the wheels, he still made it happen. He adapted and over came for the purpose of providing a better good to consumers. Consumers being affected by tuckers adaptability is not only limited to the movie. In todays society, entrepreneurs have to be able to adapt on a daily basis. New ideas are being turned in to reality every day. That means that the world is evolving every day. The only way to keep up, is to evolve and adapt along with it. So how does society feel about entrepreneurs being adaptive? We as consumers love that entrepreneurs are adaptive. Take a look around, everything you see was once just an idea. Therefore, someone had to turn that idea into a real thing in order for it to be there. So as consumers, we indeed do support entrepreneurs and their ability to be adapt. Ironically, we the people are a majority of what entrepreneurs have to adapt to. We constantly want something new and flashy. If we can afford it, A majority of people want all the bells and whistles. So in return, innovators have to be able to generate and produce products that people will want. When that product they make does not sell, then they have to adapt and find a product that will.
