Sety I was a second ruler of the New Kingdom's 19. dynasty. After several campaigns in Syria and Palestine, he reestablished Egyptian rule after the disastrous rule of Akhenaten and re-conquered lost regions of Amurru and Kadesh.
This relief depicts Sety smiting his enemy. Relief is on the northern wall of his temple in Karnak.
We can see some similarities on this relief of Thutmose III, ruler of the famous 18. dynasty, who ruled some 150 years earlier. Both of them are depicted as they smiting there enemies.
