It was a Sunday, but not just any Sunday. It was voting Sunday in Argentina. The candidates who were going to represent us were chosen for the final election to elect president and other positions in the month of October for the following four years. These calls P.A.S.O. (Simultaneous and Compulsory Open Elementary) was held on a beautiful Sunday.
Luckily in the province of Buenos Aires the elections were not unfolded, making them coincide with the final date of the election, since in other years this did not happen and I remember that we had to go to vote 5 times in less than 6 months years ago, which was exhausting.
We start the day with a good breakfast. While waiting for my order to all travel together in my car, we were all going to vote at the same school, except my mother who, being a foreigner, voted at a different school.
In the case of me, my two brothers and my father, we got a nice school in the Marcos Sastre neighborhood, a few kilometers from where my parents' house is.
When we arrive we see the always beautiful park that is in front of the school, which to tell the truth, is more beautiful every day 😍.
I left the car one block away and as I walked through the beautiful squares I began to notice a great crowd of people at the door of the school where we voted. When I saw this, the only thing I was praying for was that our table was not the one that was late... but... when we found out which row corresponded to us, it was the row that was late 😩. Table 541 was the only one not advancing. For me there was no problem, but my father is a person over 70 years old and it was not good that he was standing for so long, so we took turns with my brothers to line up while my father and I sat in the square.
We had arrived at 11 in the morning, I thought it was a good time to vote but when I saw the queue that kept growing, I realized that it was not our best day to vote 😅.
It was already 1:00 p.m. and the line went around the block, luckily if this progressed, we would have to go in first, but the misinformation was worrying. The police did not know what to tell us, the authorities said that there was a problem with one of the ballot boxes and they had to make a report, other people said that they took the opportunity to go eat something, and other authorities also told us because of how low they went to the bathroom. ..😩. While we waited for the line to advance a bit, we had beautiful talks with my father and my brothers in the square.
After more than 2 and a half hours of waiting outside, our table was finally reset and back to normal! 🤗. Of course we all passed, happy! When we entered we thought that the queue had ended but... noooooo!!! 😮. Inside there was another row to do! 😭. But hey, you have to see the positive side, the day was beautiful and at least people were already voting.
While I was waiting my turn to vote, I walked around the school and noticed the changes that had been made in it, such as the second floor that did not exist 2 years ago. It is very nice to see how the school where one studies is progressing, and those rooms or patios in which we used to play, are now classrooms or new offices 🤗.
More than 30 minutes passed and we were still in line. What was happening? 🤔. Why was the line advancing at a snail's pace? Maybe there would be a lot of ticket cutting? Did something happen in the dark room? After 3 hours queuing we began to lose patience...
It's my turn!!! I was finally able to enter the dark room and choose my candidates. There were many tickets. You are always gripped by that fear of not knowing where what you are looking for is and you want to get out of the room as quickly as possible so that those behind you can vote and go home!
And after almost 4 hours we all managed to finish voting!!! 🤗
We return to the road to the car, we enjoy the park, its games, its courts, a beautiful and hot day. Now it was time to return home as quickly as possible to prepare a delicious barbecue and wait for the results of the vote in the afternoon.
Saludos!!!
Well my friends, this was my adventure in these last elections that were held in my country. In the month of October is the final election, the one that defines who will be the next president of Argentina. The only thing I hope is that we don't have 4 hours to vote...😅.
Greetings!!!
