What started as a simple e-bike test ride turned into chaos!
I built a brand-new 36 V 10S battery from salvaged 18650 cells and wanted to test voltage versus SOC on my bike. Halfway through, a magpie swooped me and my chain jammed!
Despite the drama, my ~$100 AUD DIY pack performed flawlessly. I logged voltage before and after the ride, measured charging current (42 V @ 1.92 A tapering down), and proved that a homemade pack can match, or beat, a ~$400 AUD store-bought battery.
