Background

Musing.io is a decentralized question and answer platform on Steem's blockchain. Those who share insightful knowledge with the world can earn Steem tokens. You can both ask a question or answer someone else's, either of which may receive upvotes!

We've been live for almost 2 months and are on our way to becoming a top app on Steem's blockchain. So far, we have committed a minimum to marketing our product. There have been over 10,000 questions and answers posted so far, all of which have been the result of just 2 blog posts. The reason we've chosen to do less marketing is because we wanted to make sure the product and user experience was ready to scale and that the system and incentives worked seamlessly.

We're at a point now where it makes sense to bring more users into Musing and so we plan on launching a series of user referral contests!

Contests

There will be more than one contest as we progress, and we will continue to tweak them to fit our needs better, but the general way in which they will work is that we will allow a number of our users to invite their friends to Musing.io using their link. Depending on the contest, when those friends sign up, create a post, or get an @musing upvote, the user who sent out invitations will receive Steem from us.

The $1,500 that we are asking for will be used solely to fund these contests so that we can grow our user-base and ultimately create and share more knowledge on our platform.

Our First Contest

The rules for the first contest will be as follows - We will choose our top 50 users to be selected for the invite contest. They will be allowed to invite up to 5 of their friends, and for each user the signs up with a confirmed email address, the user who invited them will earn $1 in Steem. Doing the math, if all users invited 5 of their friends, that would be $250 given out. The next few contests will be on a larger scale once this first contest goes well.
