Prize Portal Needs An Upgrade!

Prize Portal has been a partially developed idea for over a year, and in order for it to properly function as intended it will need a serious upgrade. First off almost everything is human powered, no automation was in place. Secondly Prize Portal operates on the steemit.com front end instead of it's own. Thirdly it operated on funds from the TASKMANAGER bitshares token and it's pool of Steem Power, this needed to be dedicated to other services with great potential (#upfundme).

Giving Prize Portal it's own front end for new users to sign up to steem and get a chance at winning actual physical prizes shipped to their home could be great for STEEM. One of the most asked questions about crypto is, "What can I get with it?"

Prizes are selected from shippers who offer worldwide shipping, usually with free or low cost ground shipping. Once a winner is selected, a portion of SBD is sold for bitcoin and the prize is purchased and shipped directly to the winner. The winner currently provides their information via a wordpress form, however in the future this process could be upgraded. Winners could receive a private memo with everything they need to claim their prize, including a unique claim url.

Automation will be key to the future of Prize Portal, and steps are already being taken to begin this. Automated Power Up mode is now and option for the Prize Portal account (@prizeportal).

When automatic power up is turned on all earned rewards will be automatically claimed, and all SBD sold for STEEM, then powered up! Further steps will be taken to automate parts of Prize Portal such as scaled entries based on vote weight, automatic reward sharing to people who enter, and automated winner selection to remove as much human elements as possible when it comes to picking winners.

In order to support the automation services and servers, along with any support staff, we will need a larger pool of Steem Power to support everything with.
Steem Power can fully pay for prizes given out to the community.

Using Steem Power to Upvote support staff will make the job more desirable.
Having extra Steem Power available allows us to support other projects (like #upfundme and fundition.io).
