That's what I used to think up until a couple of weeks ago, when I watched this video of an engineer, showing the curvature calcs are actually out by a significant amount. If you can understand calcs watch this engineer at about 1 hour 30 mins into the vid.

We can see too far it seems. It's put my head in a spin and I don't know what the f+CK to think on this topic now..lol
