Surely many have heard of it thanks to the fanciful creations of Marvel in which they have taken the Nordic cosmology as a reference, mentioning different ancient gods like Heimdall, Loki, Thor, Odin among others.
But in reality who is, what are their dependencies as god, their role within cosmology and its role to the human? It is common to be called 'Allfather' or the father of all, although this is not true at all, plays a leading role within the Nordic faith, Odin is the head of the pantheon that is divided between the Ases coming and / or habitants of the Asgard and the Vanir from and / or habitants of the Vanaheim.
Odin is often the center of different forms of Faith, is the god that enjoys greater popularity among believers, these forms of faith have grown steadily since the 1990s getting to be recognized in different countries both in Europe and the continent American, among them we have AsatrĂº, Odinism, Norsk sed, Forn sed, Vor sed, Theodism, Nordic / German Neo-paganism. He is known by different names: Odin, Wotan, Woden, Allfather, Woda, Waidawut among others (in this article we can find a fragment of a poem where he tells us a little more about them: https: //es.wikipedia. org / wiki / Odin Names).
Odin has influence over magic, war, destiny (understood as things that are going to happen in the future in a given term), Odin has the power to do and undo things, is the pillar of those who believe in the hope in the days of trouble, the calm for their storms, that extra strength that many need in their daily battles in daily life, their good luck charm.
Soon I'll write more about Odin, stay tuned: D
