Cocktail Horse's Neck
The Horse's Neck is an American cocktail recognized by the International Bartenders Association...
(IBA) which was first taken in the late 19th century. At the time, the recipe did not include an alcoholic base. It was not until about 1910 that brandy was added to Horse's Neck as the main ingredient. Although the non-alcoholic combination continued to be served until the 1950s in the United States, today the Horse's Neck is always served with brandy or, failing that, bourbon. The recipe is as simple as that of coffee with milk:
Source
40 ml of brandy
110 ml ginger ale
Lemon peel for decoration
It is served in a highball glass with plenty of ice, making it ideal for the summer.
