Heublein, a distributor of alcoholic beverages, contacted Mr. John Jack Morgan, owner of Cock 'n' Bull Products, a company that produced, among other products, ginger beer. All they had to do was put together the products they marketed and add some lime. The Moscow Mule was born, which in the 1940s became one of the most popular cocktails in the United States.
Ingredients
A part of vodka
One part lime juice
Three parts ginger beer
Mix and serve with ice. If you're not into vodka as a base drink, you can try one of the variations of Moscow Mule: Three Legged Mule, which is served with Jameson whiskey; Mexican Mule, which exchanges vodka for Tequila and KahlΓΊa; or Mule Special, which is served with orange slices instead of lime and seasoned with salt and pepper (typical of New Zealand).
