The mobile game development studio, Rovio well known for creating the Angry Birds, is closing down its London studio. This news came as the financial results of Rovio were announced for the fourth quarter and full-year 2017.
According tot he company CEO, no doubt our business has a healthy foundation, but we are not satisfied with the current performance of the Rovio’s business. With the passage of time competition has increased which is causing significant increase in user acquisition costs.
The company has launched three new games Angry Birds Match, Angry Birds Evolution and Battle Bay but they performed short of their expectations. The London studio was opened in January 2017 with a focus on multiplayer online games. Now the work done in this office will be shifted to other studios.
