Back in my earlier days on YouTube, I decided to post a comment in the comments section of this one clip from the 1997 film Lolita in which Humbert Humbert and Dolores Haze were kissing each other.
There was this one YouTuber whose user name I cannot remember, and he had been leaving comments in the comments section of that same YouTube video. For the sake of this article, I'm going to refer to him as Ethan.
Ethan thought that he was holier than thou. Any time anyone said anything that remotely challenged the Puritanical Establishment, Ethan somehow believed himself to be superior and supreme by maliciously pervert-shaming that individual. Eventually, Ethan contradicted my comments in the comments section of that video.
Instead of becoming combative, I simply threw a whole host of facts his way to refute him. He was one of those fanatical child-advocate freaks who, in figurative words, believed that raising the statutory age of consent to 35 years old on a worldwide basis would turn our planet into some kind of pristine Utopia of age-appropriate perfection and wholesome purity.
Ethan always seemed to contend that the United States would be better off being a Fascist totalitarian police state with draconian statutory-rape laws rather than a democratic republic that served the demands of the people. Ethan was obsessed with winning an argument. I thought that he was merely a troll, but then his communications with me began to get eerier and eerier all the time.
It was clear to me that Ethan could barely speak English or write it, because his grammar and spelling were atrocious. I could not figure out what his country of origin was. Then again, it really didn't matter to me, because he apparently was someone who liked to start arguments with others and insult them.
Ethan eventually sent me some kind of private communication through YouTube. At that time, a YouTuber could send a direct message to another YouTuber through their YouTube channel.
In that private communication, Ethan attempted to convince me to go to some kind of group therapy as though he viewed me to be the next Jack the Ripper. All I ever had done was disagree with his comments in my replies to them in the comments section of that one above-described YouTube channel.
Instead of responding to Ethan, I quickly blocked him. This man was too freaky for me. Therefore, my advice to any of you who fall into similar circumstances is not to fall for this ploy. Any money that you may have to see a psychiatrist or partake in group therapy would be better spent on you purchasing a handgun to keep people like Ethan away from you in case they decide to stalk you.
Moreover, why would anyone want to share their personal thoughts with complete strangers on the advice of some wacko they met on YouTube? I know I wasn't going to do so.
I long for the day that I see a story on the evening news about one of these vigilantes getting shot and killed. These same people bring out the hatred in me. I don't care about their families either. Most of them probably beat on their wives and sexually abuse their own children anyway.
The United States also needs to execute prison rapists who sexually victimize their inmates. Never mind the Coker vs. Georgia ruling and the likes. The United States Supreme Court justices have not been very popular these days. Of course, that's another article for another time.
In any event, Ethan was one to accuse anyone who disagreed with him about a juvenile-justice-related matter of wanting to have sex with teenagers below the statutory age of consent. This one woman against whom he made that accusation for that same reason turned around and told him that his viewpoint of her was as ridiculous as accusing someone of being homosexual merely because they supported gay rights.
I liked that one woman's school of thought. Ethan fabricated things in his mind that were not even real, and, at the same time, he viewed himself as serving some kind of divine purpose and mission for the greater good. At the end of the day, he was merely another screwed-up individual who was a threat to himself and to others.
At one point, Ethan accused me of harassing him, when he was the one who had been trying to start trouble with me. He had it in his head that everyone who disagreed with him was morally inferior to him.
Ethan did agree with me, however, that adults who gravitated toward teenagers for romantic purposes were not pedophiles. Of course, he was likely attempting to get my guard down so that he could play with my mind.
Anyhow, now that I am on the subject of Lolita, I would like to comment about a YouTube video that a YouTuber whose user name is Final Girl Digital posted about the book titled Lolita as well as both Lolita movies that were supposed to be based on that same novel.
1. A Femi-Nazi Influencer's Pedophile-Panic Propaganda Disguised As Critical Thinking
In her video, YouTuber Final Girl Digital starts out by criticizing Stanley Kubrick and James B. Harris for taking way too much writer's license in how they devised the plot of their 1962 movie Lolita in that it bore very minimal resemblance to the actual novel titled Lolita that Vladimir Nabokov published in 1955. Additionally, YouTuber Final Girl Digital expressed the same opinion about the 1997 movie version of Lolita.
All right. I have no problem with YouTuber Final Girl Digital's opinions in that regard. I happen to agree with her on those same points.
Nabokov was attempting to portray a middle-aged man as cornering a small-framed 12-year-old girl in his 1955 novel Lolita. On the other hand, both Lolita movies depicted the middle-aged protagonist's forbidden love relationship with a precociously developed 14-year-old girl whose genetic gifts caused boys her own age to shy away from her and even made men the protagonist's age feel nervous in her presence, as being a miracle of events.
Movie producers have the habit of taking the plots of novels and giving each and every one of them a life of their own rather than adhering strictly to the storyline that the author has laid out in print. Some of you who read the book Jaws and saw the movie Jaws would likely agree. My sister once read the book Paper Moon and saw the movie for it, and she was astonished at how many inconsistencies there were between the two.
What bothers me about YouTuber Final Girl Digital and her cronies is that they're all over the place with the subject of pedophilia and the likes, although they initially appear to understand what it is and is not in accordance with the Fifth Edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders ("DSM-5"). At the same time, they remain on a slippery slope with the usage of the clinical terms.
What remains out of whack with the narratives of this same YouTuber and those who appear to agree with her is that she does not seem to have any genuine knowledge about the timelines through which the definition of the terms "pedophilia" and the likes evolved. These terms were coined in 1886. However, an actual specific definition for them that included a diagnostic criteria did not appear in any medical books for almost another 100 years.
Back in the 1950s, even though the term "pedophilia" and the likes were on the medical books, there was no specific definition or diagnostic criteria for them. Therefore, how these terms got defined were left up to the discretion of attending mental-health professionals.
If Nabokov had intended his 1955 novel titled Lolita to be a story about pedophilia, he would have had to have had some background in psychiatry or the like. I researched his background and found nothing of the sort except that he did oppose Dr. Sigmund Freud's teachings.
I had not yet been born in the 1950s. However, I know for a fact that only psychiatrists and other mental-health professionals would have known the definitions of the clinical terms "pedophilia," "pedophile," "pedophiles," and the likes back in the 1950s. Perhaps certain law-enforcement officials would have known it too.
Nevertheless, the terms "pedophilia," "pedophile," "pedophiles," and the likes were not used in daily dialogue among the average Americans back in the 1950s nor would they be so in many years to come. Therefore, YouTuber Final Girl Digital and others like her could not be completely accurate in their assertion that Nabokov had intended for his novel to be about pedophilia. English wasn't even his first language.
The oldest movie that I know of in which the term "pedophile" is uttered is the 1981 movie titled Fallen Angel starring Richard Masur and the late Dana Hill, and whether that was really a movie about pedophilia remains debatable to this very day. There were so many holes and defects in the storyline of the movie insofar as it lacked realism in so many ways.
Now, if I were to give YouTuber Final Girl Digital the benefit of the doubt and pretend that Nabokov was actually educated in the knowledge he needed to understand fully what pedophilia was and was about, I could perhaps accept her initial narrative about him in that he painted the 12-year-old girl in his novel as being pre-pubescent and still in Tanner Stage 1. Then I could agree with her that he was trying to convey pedophilia from the mind of the alleged pedophile protagonist himself.
Unfortunately, the whole bigger picture regarding the novel Lolita is not as black and white as YouTuber Final Girl Digital apparently deems it to be. There are a whole host of other factors to consider before anyone can rightfully conclude that this novel had anything to do with pedophilia.
Moreover, I learned from another YouTube video that the 12-year-old girl in Nabokov's novel had already lost her virginity to a young boy. That alone would tend to indicate that she was not really a pre-pubescent child at all but rather an adolescent girl who happened to be petite as some adult women can be.
I admit that I have not read Nabokov's book. If I get a chance to read it, I will do so to find out what all this hype is about that influencers like YouTuber Final Girl Digital keep throwing around on social media.
Where YouTuber Final Girl Digital and her cronies begin to transform their narratives from simple opinions into a full-blown pedophile-panic campaign is when they imply that older men are and have always been to blame for all of teenage girls' problems. Then they get on their grooming agenda through most of the video, and that on its own damages their credibility severely.
Not only are YouTuber Final Girl Digital's narratives misleading, but she makes it no secret that she is a men-hating femi-Nazi who only sets out to serve her own agenda, which is to promote fake pedophilia. Watch her video below.
YouTuber Final Girl Digital Obviously Doesn't Know The Real Definition Of Pedophilia, Because The Lolita Movies Had Nothing To Do With It
Now, I must forewarn you that I may get graphic in this article here of mine, because YouTuber Final Girl Digital and other femi-Nazis like her get me so outraged that I cannot hold back the strong language herein. So, brace yourselves, because I will not be sugarcoating my response to YouTuber Girl Digital's video.
First of all, grooming is not rape. I get sick and tired of YouTuber Final Girl Digital throwing that word around in her video as though it has gone out of style. Such a term has become so ambiguous and arbitrary on how it gets applied in the English language that it doesn't offer any evidence of any wrongdoing whenever anyone accuses someone of using it.
And, no. I don't believe that the novel Lolita is difficult to adapt in a film, because the movie producers of both the 1997 movie version and the 1962 movie version of it handled their respective storylines beautifully on camera. I found nothing offensive about either of the movies' plots. Femi-Nazis merely don't like men being brutally honest about these types of topics.
Second of all, YouTuber Final Girl Digital utilizes the usual tactic of implying that anyone who disagrees with her narratives is hiding in the pedophile closet. Really?! My philosophy is that whenever anyone falsely accuses me of being a pedophile or the likes simply because I disagree with them about a juvenile-justice-related issue, then I have already won my argument against them.
If YouTuber Final Girl Digital actually had strong, salient points and arguments to offer in her video in support of her stance on this topic, she would not need to use gaslighting tactics against any of her dissenters. If she were to invoke credible facts and incontrovertible information in her video, she wouldn't need to take her absurdities to such lengths. Of course, her video amounts to nothing but an editorial opinion.
For YouTuber Final Girl Digital to claim that adult men who find both of the Lolita movies to be entertaining are prospective child predators is equally as ignorant as some religious fanatic like Judie Brown of the American Life League accusing a doctor or scientist of being a child murderer or child killer merely for participating in embryonic stem cell research. People like these simply don't think logically.
I know that somebody who reads this article here of mine is going to attempt to snipe at my analogies and shout them down, but I will not remain silent about this subject matter. As Americans, we currently live in a nation (the United States) that has a double-digit illiteracy rate. Therefore, whenever someone uses the terms "pedophile," "pedophilia," and the likes as misnomers, I have to be one to attack that person on my keyboard in hopes that I can set him or her straight.
Let me stress that 1962 was a year that gave the American people and the world a number of movies about cross-generational relationships between adult men and adolescent girls. I hadn't been born yet, but I have a thorough enough knowledge of what cinema was like back then.
There was the movie titled Satan Never Sleeps. That movie was about a man who forcibly rapes a 16-year-old girl in the People's Republic of China, causing her to get pregnant with his child and later marries her. I can see feminists in general not liking that film, and I would not oppose any adverse opinions about it inasmuch as I don't like the idea of any girl or woman marrying their rapist.
There was the French film titled Sundays and Cybèle. It was about a Vietnam War veteran in his thirties who befriends a 12-year-old girl. They develop non-Platonic feelings for each other. There is nothing sexual in that film. Therefore, it would not do justice to associate it with pedophilia in any way, shape, or form.
Of course, radical feminists are going to have their preconceived notions about that one film just like every other film that they don't fully understand. These mentally unhinged women base every viewpoint of theirs on their knee-jerk reactions rather than on the actual facts of it. For that reason, they make terrible leaders.
YouTuber Final Girl Digital delves into the absurd when she stupidly attempts to equate any love scene between a teenage girl and an older man in Lolita or similar films to a child molester gawking at a 5-year-old girl performing ballet on YouTube. Both scenarios are light years away from each other, but YouTuber Final Girl Digital simply has to sensationalize her video by comparing oranges and apples for views.
It is no wonder that Hispanic journalists in Latin America are afraid to report the facts behind Juan Perón's romance with Nelly Rivas in the 1950s. At the time that Juan Perón first fell in love with Nelly Rivas, he was in his fifties and Ms. Rivas was only 14 years old.
Even though people who knew both of them personally insist that there was no exploitation going on between the two, Latin-American journalists know that most Americans are not going to be able to handle such a true story without misinterpreting it for something that it is not. Most Americans see these situations with tunnel vision rather than with an objective outlook.
It is not as though a middle-aged man who may have fallen in love with a teenage girl is going to wake up one morning and decide to abduct a 3-year-old girl from a playground and then commit an unconscionable, lewd act upon her. A deadbeat teenage father would be more likely to engage in that kind of depravity than anyone else.
I would not doubt that deadbeat teenage fathers are contributing to the amount of child trafficking here in the United States. They want to get out of ever having to pay child support once they come of age. They're sick enough to sell their own toddler children to pedophile rings.
Nonetheless, YouTuber Final Girl Digital stubbornly holds on to the deluded perception that every adult man who has ever fallen in love with a teenage girl is a pedophile. She obviously did not see the documentary film titled Are All Men Pedophiles? by Jan-Willem Breure.
Notice that nowhere in YouTuber Final Girl Digital's video does she complain about movies with similar plots as Lolita in which the gender roles are reversed such as Summer of '42 and Private Lessons. In both of those movies, the younger sex partner was a 15-year-old boy and the female sex partner was significantly older than the young boy.
No, I don't consider those two movies to be about pedophilia either, but somehow radical feminists like YouTuber Final Girl Digital always give these same films a free pass; whereas they search for every reason in their one-track mind to demonize the movies in which the male sex partner is noticeably older than the female teenage girl of his desires.
The second Lolita movie had absolutely nothing to do with pedophilia. Instead, the movie was about nostalgia that a middle-aged man named Humbert Humbert suffered over the loss of his 13-year-old girlfriend back when he was that age himself insofar as it drives him into the arms of a 14-year-old girl named Dolores Haze after he is in his mid-life inasmuch as she is the reincarnation of his first 14-year-old girlfriend.
The second Lolita movie is sort of a supernatural version of Moonrise Kingdom in which two youngsters are reunited after one of them dies and returns back to life in a different body. Then they both must deal with both society and the law's misunderstanding of their relationship with each other in view of their age difference.
At the end of this film, both Humbert Humbert and Dolores Haze die shortly apart in time after they both realize that they can never be together again in life. Someone like YouTuber Final Girl Digital is too obsessed with pedophilia to have even noticed all those characteristics about this same film.
Another YouTube video indicated that Nabokov captured all of these supernatural elements in his 1955 novel titled Lolita. I would have to say that he never had any intentions of making his book about pedophilia.
It's so incredible how much hype is given to pedophilia in today's American culture in view of the fact that the psychiatrist who invented it (Dr. Richard von Krafft-Ebing) has been dead for over a century. In a podcast of hers, Candace Owens made him seem as though he were some wealthy hedonist who had the characteristics of a dog in heat. Here is her podcast if you wish to listen to it. If you're having a difficult time finding it, go to her podcast titled "OOPS! I've Enraged The Psychology Community" and click onto it.
YouTuber Final Girl Digital actually denies that there is such thing as an adolescent seductress. Has she not heard about the Alisha Dean scandal? Obviously not.
YouTuber Final Girl Digital brings up the subject of the film titled Diary of a Teenage Girl. I have not had the opportunity to see that film. However, from the reviews that I have read about it, it doesn't come across to me as any film about a 15-year-old girl suffering grooming and sexual exploitation at the hands of older men.
Instead, this same film strikes me as a movie about a 15-year-old girl having a sexual awakening and seeking to experience the romance of an older man. Before YouTuber Final Girl Digital talks about cleaning up a film, she needs to clean up her one-track mind.
2. A Femi-Nazi's Influencer's Belittlement Of Behind-The-Scenes People
In her video above, not only does YouTube Final Girl Digital pick apart both Lolita movies, but she also tears apart the people who made those movies possible. She starts by demonizing James B. Harris who was part of the making of the first Lolita film in 1962.
In wanting to have a wedding between the protagonist, Humbert Humbert, and the teenage co-protagonist, Dolores Haze, at the end of the film, Mr. Harris stressed that it was legal for girls to wed at 12 years old in some jurisdictions of the United States in 1962. YouTuber Final Girl Digital made a big fuss about that in her video.
Now, I'm going to be frank about it. I never encourage anyone to get married before 30 years old. Never mind all the garbage that gets thrown at everyone on podcasts of The Daily Wire.
I would never encourage any girl to get married at 12 years old. However, at the same time, a friend of a friend of mine got married that young, and her marriage to an adult man had a happy outcome. Of course, she married into wealth, and then she had servants waiting on her hand and foot.
If the late Sue Lyon, who played the role of the first Lolita, actually had sexual relations with Mr. Harris when she was 14 years old and he was in his thirties as Michelle Phillips from the Mamas and the Papas alleges, it was their business. Nobody complained about it and nobody went to jail for it shortly after it happened, so it's ancient history now.
Michelle Phillips was a teenager herself when she first entered into a relationship with her late ex-husband John Phillips. He was nearly a decade older than her. Therefore, she could not have disapproved of the late Ms. Lyon's tryst with Mr. Harris too much.
If the late Ms. Lyon had been a toddler at the time of her tryst with Mr. Harris, I would say that the authorities should lock Mr. Harris up and throw away the key. However, she was a teenager at the time, and nobody got hurt.
Of course, I have to realize that YouTuber Final Girl Digital doesn't know how to distinguish between teenagers and toddlers. One has to question her sense of reality or rather her lack thereof.
YouTuber Final Girl Digital kept insulting the screenwriter, Stephen Schiff, for the second Lolita movie throughout her video. So he doesn't cater to radical feminists' rhetoric. It only tells you that this man has a mind of his own. He doesn't allow societal norms to poison his judgment. However, I do agree with her that he shouldn't have made a snide remark against the late Ms. Lyon.
3. Final Thoughts
In contrary to what YouTuber Final Girl Digital states, the fetish of teenage sexuality that adult men have is not pedophilia, and these men are not pedophiles. The DSM-5 specifies that a pedophile is someone 16 years of age or older who is exclusively or primarily attracted to prepubescent children five years their junior who are younger than 13 years of age (younger than 11 years old under certain circumstances).
The fact alone that the term "nymphet" distinguishes an attractive and flirtatious adolescent girl from a little girl who has not gotten even beyond her baby-teeth stage of life sets the framework to determine who is and is not a pedophile. Moreover, YouTuber Final Girl Digital misuses the term "little girl" to describe teenage females who are beyond the crayons-and-playground phase of their lives.
If YouTuber Final Girl Digital can't even get the definition of pedophilia completely right, then she compromises the integrity of her video. Although she initially presents herself as being informative, she loses her ability to be impartial as she speaks on inasmuch as her narrative gradually changes into propaganda.
My concern about YouTuber Final Girl Digital is that she appears to favor censorship and she doesn't value freedom of speech. She contends that teenage girls in movies like Lolita will suffer in their personal life.
I know that the producers of the first Lolita didn't deliver exactly what they promised to the late Ms. Lyon after she played the role of Dolores Haze in that same film. However, I've heard nothing negative about the direction Dominique Swain's life took after she starred as Dolores Haze in the second Lolita film.
YouTuber Final Girl has a mouthful to say regarding who and who should not have been involved in the production of both Lolita movies. Well, I want certain television commercials taken off the air. However, is anyone going to listen to me? I wouldn't want to hear what YouTuber Final Girl Digital has to say about Linda Blair's role in The Exorcist.
I could not make sense out of Natalie Portman's speech. I understand her concern over some of the unpleasant remarks she has received from her fan base. However, these are remarks that anyone in the public eye is bound to receive sooner or later. It doesn't only happen to females. It happens to males too.
My experiences have been that women get more freedom to sexualize men and young boys than the other way around. If a man even hints that a woman looks well dressed or so much smiles at a teenage girl, he is immediately pervert-shamed. However, if a woman cracks a tasteless joke about a man's penis size or lack thereof, he is supposed to stay silent about it.
Furthermore, in reference to the movies Lolita, if YouTuber Final Girl Digital is really concerned about power imbalances in romantic relationships between teenage girls and adult men, perhaps she and her cronies should launch a campaign against hypergamy. Wait a minute! If they did that, then they'd have to give up their limousine dates and expensive jewelry that their rich boyfriends and husbands buy them.
Expecting a femi-Nazi to do the right thing is really aiming high. Heaven forbid. They wouldn't want to rally against their own selfish interests.
Radical feminism has brought way too many double standards to the United States for men. It brings to mind a clip of a woman on an airplane screaming at a man she doesn't even know and slapping him. I saw this one clip on the Better Bachelor channel on YouTube.
Fairness no longer seems to be the standard anymore to radical feminists. They always have to possess the higher ground, even if it means their delving into a sea of hypocrisy.
Most of all, fake pedophilia has become a threat to the United States and the world. YouTuber Final Girl Digital and others like her are in the wrong to promote it in any way, shape, or form.
I get it that neither of the Lolita movies are exactly chick flicks. They were never meant to be ones. In any event, I would much rather watch both of the Lolita films than waste my time on an intellectually bankrupt movie like Juno. Do you ever notice how Elliot Page (then known as Ellen Page) always seemed to appear in cheesy movies regarding teenagers?
Hmmm. How is it that the teenage girl characters never seem to get pregnant in movies about forbidden love between them and noticeably older men? I guess it's because the movie would be over before it even had a chance to start. Oh, well. That's show business.
