Growing up, I was a huge fan of cartoons, I love art, so it was easy for me to get lost in astonishment of creativity that comes with it, cartoons sort of blew my mind, from the looks to the movement, to the story line, moments with cartoons for me were just bliss. When I was pretty young there were a lot of cartoons around, I remember HE-MAN, a very interesting superhero like cartoon, Biker Mice, Voltron, Scooby Doo to mention a few, of course Tom and Jerry lol.
There were quite a ton of them then, time went on, then I found this Japanese cartoon, Samurai X, it was one of my top favorites, it was split into about 100 episodes, I watched them everyday, I liked it particularly because of the story line, quite different from the others in that time, quite mature as well and one cannot fail to marvel at the stunts displayed, lol, Kenshin was a kickass. Well life happened at some point and I had to say a big bye to that aspect of my life.
Fast forward to about 13years later a friend told me about this really interesting movie he watched and to my surprise it was the movie version of Samurai X! My one time all time favorite cartoon had been made into a movie, no other movie I saw at that point made sense to me until I quenched my crave to watch my one time all time favorite. Eventually I did see the movie, it was split into 3 parts, people around me couldn't fathom my excitement and hype about the movie.
Firstly may I say Japanese are talented movie maker's! Of all the cartoons turned movie that I've ever watched, Samurai X stands out as one incredibly made movie, the cartoon characters were so in sync with the movie, I noticed every detail, every move, even the lines, the gadgets, though they managed to squeeze all the episodes into a 3 part movie, but dang I give the Japanese the accolades for that one.
No offense but there seems to be a slack when American cartoons are made into movies. Godzilla for one, it was a cartoon I followed a couple of weeks as it was also made into episodes, but when I saw it being made into a movie, it didn't quite cut it for me. How about teenage mutant ninja turtles TMNT, the cartoon, awesome, movie, not so so. I really don't know why.
How about Superman lol, I'm sure this will spark a lot memories in people who were a fan of the cartoon, for me, lol, the movie was okay, I give the creators a very huge pass mark, well, billions were pumped into the making of the movie, so it had to live up to the hype. Though a lot of people I know will say the movie was shit. The difference I noticed between American and Japanese movie maker's is that the Japanese don't spend as much budget as the Americans do, but their low budget movies can really stand up to compete the high budget movies.
I will still love to see HE-MAN made into a movie, this is the one on my mind for now. So much memories of me mimicking his acts, lol, my name is HeeeeeMaaaaan, and I have poweeeerrrrr!!!, then I will jump from couch to couch and beat my sisters up lmao!! How about you, what favorite cartoon will you like to see to be made into a movie?
