Sometimes I rehearse things. I sit and speak to myself as if I was in the actual situation. I speak to the room as if it was the world. I don't know if this is healthy. But I do know that it helps me prepare for an inevitable future.
Sometimes when I'm rehearsing events like my presentation to Shark Tank, I find myself more ready. This could be the best thing that I'm doing for myself.
Really, if it takes x amount of time to think of yourself in a certain position, maybe that position isn't for you. I find for myself that I am automatically drawn to these conversations as if they are happening already. The benefit is that when these situations do happen, I'm ready.
The world has told us to turn off our own internal antenna. This antenna actually helps us to navigate the world. By dampening it's examining capability we are dampening our ability to react to our environment.
I hope I haven't gone over your head, but daydreaming can be and is an incredible form of practice. The thoughts you rehearse today come to the Forefront of your mind so much easier when necessary. Just like practicing your scales or songs before performance, daydreaming gives your mind time to prepare for what it must do with the rest of your speech pattern and mannerisms.
So for me I think I will keep my day dreams and I think I will continue to count it as practice for my appearance on Shark Tank.
