Anyone in France to have bought a diesel car before 1997 or a petrol car before 2001 are going receive a bonus when they go over to a new electric car, making it easier for the French car fleet to be switched over to the new goals.
They have confidence in that the manufacturing of cars in France are well prepared for this change as they wish the French economy to take a lead role on the green economy change.
The country have the ambition to be carbon neutral in 2050, which means they are phasing out coal energy production in 2022.
Other countries has already anounced the same thing, including Norway and the Netherlands that plans to do the same as early as 2025.
Yesterday the Swedish car manufacturer announced that they are going to change their production and stop making petrol-only cars from their production plants by 2019. They will instead make electric or electric-hybrid cars. A bold but good announcement that has been taken well in the EU.
