Local ecologies have long been destroyed as a casual byproduct of human travel. In New Zealand this problem has been particularly acute. But now the island is fighting back.
This is an amazing story about how NZ is trying to restore ecological diversity and reversion to its original state through genetic modification. While the effort seems laudable it does also definitely raise a slippery slope concern about whether and to what extent humans should 'play God' with other species.
