Happy Wednesday and welcome to the first Zero Waste Wednesday!
Do you use facial cleansing wipes? Or perhaps makeup remover wipes? Both of these single-use products can easily be eliminated and carried out by something more sustainable.
For the longest time I was using a single-use makeup remover wipe. They worked pretty well I admit...but I went through them pretty fast and began to realize how much waste they were accumulating. Why not try a smarter way?
I researched a couple methods and came across reusable facial rounds! They are an easy diy or simple online purchase.
I chose to go the online purchase route and settled on some navy ones from etsy! I would definitely say I would purchase through etsy again; there are a lot of sellers on amazon but I wanted this purchase to be a handmade product. There are so many great options on etsy that are 100% cotton, machine washable and handmade. My 24 pack ran me about $18 including US shipping, but honestly these have paid for themselves already (my removable makeup remover wipes were nearly $5 a pack! 😬)
I would like to try and make some extra ones sometime, but I don't currently have access to a sewing machine... I think they wold make a wonderful Christmas gift so I might try to make some around the holidays, I'll definitely share the process with you guys 😊
At the moment I am still using a store-bought makeup remover liquid to use on my reusable rounds, but in the future I would like to try a homemade remedy which will also be shared on the blog!
Thank you guys for reading, let me know if you try out your own reusable facial rounds!
