Our current method of meat production is unsustainable and causes irreparable damage to our environment and health. Methane from one cow's farts is comparable to the pollution from one car. Although alternative/greener methods of husbandry exists (feeding cows seaweed), they alone aren't enough.
Cultured meat offers a promising solution. The startup, Supermeat, will grow meat from animal cells in a lab. It's more ethical, environmentally-friendly and healthier/safer. It tastes like regular meat. We need a better way to feed the world's booming populations. Large corporations like Tyson are already on board; they couldn't ignore the cost-effectiveness of lab-grown meat. It invested in Beyond Meat, which creates a veggie-based burger that sizzles and bleeds like real beef.
