Here is a medium post in which a guy has looked into different quality criteria for EOS block producers in the top 21 range, with a striking result: the ranking would more or less reverse the current ranking by votes!
Look for yourself:
https://medium.com/@blockchainkid/re-ranking-the-top-21-eos-block-producers-based-on-governance-best-practices-and-community-50a85ef582ff
The criteria used where:
- Voter concentration
- Disclosure and Accessibility
- Structure and leadership
- Value add offering
This would place eos new York, eos Canada and eos authority in the top 3, whereas huobi, bixinboot and zbeos would have lowest ranks.
Well this might not be surprising as it's mostly known how quiet these bps are.
Criteria are always subjective, and it might also be, that the language barrier is the reason for the perceive lack of transparency
What I completely miss though are actual performance measures, like server and node setup, missed blocks etc, these are available as well publicly, these are able to demonstrate collusion issues just as well.
what do you think of those results and criteria.
I also wonder if I should offer proxy service myself... Bad idea?
