Go to any forum, pump site, anything really crypto-related EOS is never near the top in terms of followers. How can that be?
I just realized after checking out one of the posts on how to register your tokens, that people do not have the technical ability or the desire to learn and risk money trying to figure out how to use the EOS token distribution or really any Ethereum infrastructure for that matter. It is hard enough to figure out how to transfer tokens between exchanges without fat fingering something and losing your whole portfolio. It's not exactly difficult, but when people are only used to end-user apps that do everything for them or lack computer skills in general it's an extreme deterrent from getting involved in projects like EOS.
I have had my fair share of near heart attacks because I thought an exchange was a scam and stole everything, to the whole US being barred to figuring out how to register tokens - and I work with databases and software for a living. At this point I have a solid year of experience with the surrounding technology. (metamask, myetherwallet, all of the big exchanges, etherscan, a couple different icos) and simply figuring out how to interact with everything without freaking out.
My point is that when there are hyped up projects like Cardano or Tron where all you need to do is pop open a coinbase and binance account and then transfer your dough for potentially huge profits - projects like EOS take a backseat.
I LOVE that though, because it tends to keep the project ecosystem IQ high, and gives me more confidence in the project overall regardless of price. Keep it complex and intimidating until the bitter end in my opinion.
