As you may or may not know, I've been working quite a bit with this year which is a Decentralized Autonomous Community-owned block producer for the EOS network. We're the only block producer on EOS that isn't destined to be controlled by just a few people. The EOSDAC token holders vote in 12 custodians for a term of 7 days. Each new period will reset the multisignature permissions for the DAC to the top 12 voted custodians. Those custodians, through various permission levels, have control of the DAC including the block producer revenue, the smart contract code, the configuration of the DAC, and approving or denying worker proposals.
On Saturday, December 15th, we reached a significant milestone where we turned on voting for the DAC. Right now, anyone with EOSDAC tokens can vote for custodians. If you had EOS on April 15th, 2018 it's possible you also had eosDAC tokens so check your Ethereum wallet where your EOS were stored. Once we reach 15% of tokens actively voting, the DAC will be launched and the system of multisignature permissions and custodian pay will begin.
This is an exciting moment for moving forward with decentralized forms of governance. I hope many centralized systems today which have single points of failure and non-deterministic processes and outcomes will eventually transition into decentralized, deterministic (autonomous), community-driven projects where everyone is a customer, an owner, and a worker if they want to add value and be rewarded.

If you know anyone with EOSDAC tokens (or even EOS who may not realize they have EOSDAC tokens), please let them know eosDAC is now live and looking for their involvement. Have them join the DAC and vote with their tokens so we can launch and turn over control to the people. It's an exciting time, and we could use your help getting the word out.

Whatever you can do to share the word!
