I decided to start this new blog series. More focused on long and epic metal songs. Part of what got me into metal in the past was the long songs with many movements. They could easily exceed 10 minutes in length. Since some of my favorite bands are Opeth, Haken, My Dying Bride, and Anathema, I have a huge catalog of long metal songs to choose from.
Anyway let's start this off with a more recent song, Haken's Veil. This is a pretty intense song, which is all over the place. Beautiful passages, flawless transitions, and just interesting "sounds". This is an incredible arrangement.
