As you probably know from my previous posts, I am starting to become quite the fan of escape rooms. While I wouldn't describe myself as an enthusiast yet, I am starting to get some experience. As of this posting, I am currently up to seven escape rooms. After the first few I had a great experience and it felt like those rooms were seared into my brain. However, as I continued to try escape rooms, I confess they started to blur together. I started tracking my escape rooms and I am very glad I did so. Tracking can help you remember what rooms you attempted, how well they went and which ones you enjoyed the most. You can also share the list with your friends so they don't ask you to join in on an escape room you've already played.
I use a pretty simple selection of columns:
- Date
- Company
- Location
- Room Name
- Escaped (Yes/No)
- Completed Secondary Objective (Yes/No)
- Additional comments
Add these fields to your spreadsheet of choice. I use Google's spreadsheet. Once you have the sheet, it is quite easy to go in and add entries each time you complete a room. Now all your information will be available at a glance. I didn't want to create a list at first, but the more I use it the more excited I am about the concept. I definitely recommend if you plan on doing more than a few escape rooms.
