The presidential and legislative elections for the period 2019-2024 directly and simultaneously throughout Indonesia took place safely on April 17, 2019. then, until now the vote counting process is being carried out and the winner of the election will be announced by the KPU (Commission of Election) on May 22, 2019.
But the sad story behind the 2019 direct election has become a news that has received little attention from the current government.

Not only election officials, but there are also some police officers who are in charge of securing polling stations and vote boxes.
The large number of election officers who died in the simultaneous election on this time was caused by many officers who experienced fatigue because there were those who had to work more than 24 hours, on election day officers had to prepare polling stations since 6 am and the counting process was at 3 pm, there were 5 ballot boxes that must be calculated manually, then have to make recapitulation results and sign many election forms. Because the complexity of the electoral system this time makes the officers have to work overtime until all the processes are completed.
This is what makes the officers has many complain, the salary earned is also considered not in accordance with the workload that must be undertaken. Officers get a salary of around 500 thousand rupiah with almost 24 hours working time and some even more depending on each polling station.
With many casualties from election officials, this has become a correction for the government and KPU to make the future elections more simple or using e-voting so as not to make the election officers exhausted.
