History of Electricity
Myanmar preliminary era of national reconciliation in the country expanding planning of modern agriculture, cottage industries and general industry in relation to the importance of using natural local materials are reviewed. Such electricity across the country and to develop the economy sufficiently to be used abundantly full. Therefore, a summary of the cost of electricity only in Burma, and the immediate implementation of the 1947 decision, hydropower June draft project of the Union of Myanmar Economic Development (2) years (Villa) were included in the project.
Once national independence achieved, 1951 (October 1) on power group Electricity Supply Board (ESB), under the Ministry of Industry, 1948 Power was formed in accordance with the Act.
1972 (March 16) on the power board Electric Corporation Electric Power Corporation (EPC) was reorganized.
1975 On April 1 the Department of Industry of the Ministry of Industry (1), have been reorganized and named the No. (2) Industry Power Corporation is included under point (2) Industry.
1985 (12 points) on April 2, the formation of the Industry Energy Expansion Under the Power Corporation Energy participated.
1989 On April 1 Electricity Corporation of Myanmar's electric power industry reorganized Myanma Electric Power Enterprise (MEPE) was changed.
1997 (November 15) on the formation of the Ministry of Electric Power Energy Expansion Under the Ministry of Electric Power, the Department of Electric Power Myanmar's electric power industry and the Department of hydropower call center (3) was formed by the Department.
