Hellow Steemit Fellows😄
lovely couple I met in Yogyakarta Last September
I wanted to clean up my phone gallery because I think I need more free space to save some new pictures for my next year post on steemit 😊. I checked everything thoroughly and I found the pictures that I captured when I visited Yogyakarta with My couple months ago.
The reason why we're in Yogyakarta was to interview the man in the picture, He is an Aurhor of the book which we use as the referrence for our documentary project. Drs. Moehkardi, a former lecturer at the Magelang Militairy Academy and he wrote a book about Jogja Militaire Academie (I forgot wherevI saved the picture of the book cover and that book have been borrowing by a colleague). But I won't talk about the project now 😀
He is 88 Years Old, we put the green screen on his living room window, because his daughters didn't gave us any permission to take him to the studio
So we just did whatever we could to conduct the interview as fast as we can, He's not feeling well at that time. During the interview, his loving wife waiting for him at the other side of the room. We arrived at his home at 8 am and his family thought that we haven't had our breakfast and served us the breakfast which we ate it as lunch after our work done😊
our breakfast and lunch for that day
I have heard and read about this breakfast menu from my friends from Jogja, but this is the first time I really seen it served on the table😊. I heard about Jadah Tempe before and a bit curious about it. In My mother tongue, Jadah means Illigetimate, the first question comes up in my mind was what majes this tempe illigetimate? .. LOL😂😂😂
Jadah Tempe is Uli and Tempe Bacem😆
I finally realize that the word Jadah is a short word for Juadah which mean serving or food that serving to eat. Uli is made from steamed rice or rice flour that cooked with coconut's pulp and a pinch of salt (I made my simple Uli from white rice but this one from sticky or glutinus rice😊) and eating with a sweet tempe which boiling for several hours in coconut's water, palm sugar, corriander, onions, garlic, bayleaf and soybean ketchup. It taste sweet and delicious for me. (Actually, I asked to took the left over too😂😂😂).
This is Gudeg, a special food from Yogyakarta made from Jackfruit
If you happened to be in Yogyakarta, don't missed out any chance to taste this sweet food. I had made this food once before but the taste is a bit different though my FIL didn't complains and My Hubby ate it without any comment😂😂. Gudeg made from Jackfruit shoots or half-ripe. It is boiled forcseveral hours with some blended seasoning like corriander, onions, pepper and candlenuts, the brown colour came from the palm sugar, so the taste is sweet😆.
this is we called as "Sambal Goreng" or Fried Sauce
Made from Fried Tempe and a part of cow's skin (aahh I forgot the name😆😅) which dried under the sun and stir-fry with sliced onions, chillies, garlic and again palm sugar also soybean ketchup😄 the taste is sweet, hot and spicy.
I think this is what we called as "semur ayam" or chicken in soybean ketchup sauce
What a breakfast? All these food really give us so much energy to enjoy the day for sure. That's the first time I took a very different foods for my breakfast in my life. For Your Information 😊 these foods are selling anywhere around Jogjakarta as breakfast menu, but you could find it as lunch and diner too in particular place.
Drs. Moehkardi's house
After having our break-lunch and took care of our equipments, we left the house with full stomach and happy feeling😊 I got a gift from him too. His book😊 the only gift that I love from an author.
