On this occasion I will try to explain a little history about the ship diesel power plant (PLTD) Apung which initially the ship serves as an Aceh power plant but the tsunami disaster that has dragged a 2,600-ton vessel this city center and now the ship is used as one of the historical tours that reminds of the disaster in Aceh.

Pada kesempatan ini saya akan mencoba untuk menjelaskan sedikit sejarah tentang kapal pembangkit listrik tenaga diesel (PLTD) Apung yang pada awalnya kapal tersebut berfungsi sebagai pembangkit listrik Aceh namun musibah tsunami yang telah menyeret kapal seberat 2.600 ton ini ketengah kota dan saat ini kapal tersebut dijadikan sebagai salah satu wisata sejarah yang mengingatkan akan musibah di Aceh.
Diesel floating power vessels are a silent witness how ferocious tsunami waves that swept the coast of Aceh so it is now a tsunami history site that is now an object for tourists visiting Banda Aceh. the vessel is standing on a house and has now been made a historic object about the tsunami on two hectares of land.
Kapal pembangkit listrik tenaga diesel apung menjadi saksi bisu betapa ganasnya gelombang tsunami yang menyapu pesisir Aceh sehingga kini menjadi situs sejarah tsunami yang kini menjadi objek bagi wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Banda Aceh. kapal tersebut berdiri di atas sebuah rumah dan kini sudah dijadikan objek bersejarah tentang tsunami di atas tanah seluas dua hektar.
Inside the ship there are officers who are ready to guide the tourists and there are many historical items of tsunami relics in this ship. on the front of the gate entering the floating vessel's site, the monument is seen in the form of a wave reel and in the middle there is a clock where the direction of the needle indicates the exact timing of the tsunami.
Many tourists who visited the ship since becoming a tourist attraction, the majority of tourists from outside Aceh and also from a number of countries.
Di dalam kapal terdapat petugas yang siap memandu para wisatawan dan banyak terdapat barang-barang bersejarah peninggalan tsunami di dalam kapal ini. pada bagian depan pintu gerbang memasuki area situs kapal apung, monumen tersebut terlihat berbentuk gulungan gelombang dan ditengahnya terdapat sebuah jam dimana arah jarumnya menunjukkan waktu tepat terjadinya musibah tsunami.
Banyak wisatawan yang berkunjung ke kapal tersebut sejak menjadi objek wisata, mayoritas wisatawan dari luar Aceh dan juga dari sejumlah negara.
Although it has been several years passed, but the awesomeness of the tsunami that hit the location was still leaving a trail. not only leaving traces in the memories of the tsunami but also leaving traces of monuments such as one monument PLTD Apung.
Meskipun sudah beberapa tahun dilewati, namun kedahsyatan gelombang tsunami yang menerpa lokasi tersebut ternyata masih meninggalkan jejak. tidak hanya meninggalkan jejak dalam ingatantapi tsunami juga meninggalkan jejak berupa monumen seperti salah satunya monumen PLTD Apung.
