Adam Nawalka officially resigned from his post as coach of the Polish national team after undergoing a disappointing World Cup campaign. Poland certainly failed to advance to the knockout phase after losing in the first two games in the group.
"Although we have prepared ourselves as well as possible, our World Cup does not go as planned. Adam will remain coach until 30 July. Then we will find a replacement, "said Zbignie Boniek, chairman of the Football Federation of Poland, in his press statement as quoted by the official website of the Football Federation of Poland.

"I apologize but I am optimistic about the future of Polish football and my coaching career," said Nawalka. "I take full responsibility because it is the responsibility of the coach and I do not run away from it," he concluded.
Boniek plans to find a replacement for Nawalka on July 14, before the Polish Super Cup. He also revealed that there are already some names who will become candidates for the next Polish national team coach.
On the same occasion, Boniek ensured that Poland tried to build their national team with Robert Lewandoski as its center. Lewandowski had previously complained about the quality of the Polish national team players that had to lift the suitcase ahead of Russia.
