I’m feeling very scattered about home today and all week at least. I'm not in my neighborhood, because I do not really have one. I have lived so many places, that long ago I decided that anyplace I am for one night is home. That’s the only way you can think of it when you are on the move with no place to go back to.
A lot of people ask my how I did it – moved to SE Asia without knowing anything about the place or having connections or much money. I did it the way I have ever moved anywhere. I just get up and go. I do not know how you stay in one place.
People get in an uproar when something happens that they do not like where they live, but they do not move. Instead they talk about the old days before the bad thing came and try to figure out how to make it go away. This leads to stress. I find it less stressful to just not worry about the thing or if it is too bad – I just leave.
When you say, “not in my neighborhood” you are saying your neighborhood is better or more special than anywhere else. I do not think of it that way. None of us really has a place in this world. We are only on loan here for a short while.
The whole world is our neighborhood. You just don't realize that if you only stay in one place.
