No more monuments and ancient ruins in today's post.
But I'd like to show some marvels you can find within the city of Athens.
The District of Plaka, below the Acropolis and extending all the way to Syntagma Square is fantastic.
With its narrow streets, traditional buildings and cafes, it really has a special touch that needs to be experienced by anyone who visits Athens.
Here's another interesting themed place called Hansel & Gretel, that we came across on a walkway also close to Acropolis and the other ruins like the Temple of Hephaestus.
By contrast, here's a clothes shop with an awesome 4-window front called Attica, close to Syntagma Square. Each window has a different theme.
Ok, and for someone who comes from an area where orange trees don't grow, this image is so cool. And they are everywhere.
Still from Athens, I wish you a Happy New Year!
