Ok, so it's probably an odd combination to go hiking in some of the country's most tucked away natural spots... where the only lights at night are the stars twinkling in the sky... and then end up in Vegas, where the night sky is literally made into daylight with all of the signs, billboards, and marquees they've got on the Strip. But we had a great time there as well - spending many an evening at the Gold Coast where they had my beloved $5 blackjack tables - seeing Cirque Du Soleil's Ka and also Le Reve at the Wynn - and having some damn good food at the various restaurants in the casinos. The SW Steakhouse at the Wynn was delicious - always nice to find a perfectly cooked steak. Mmm! We also went to the aquarium at Mandalay Bay and did some shopping at the Forum Shops in Cesar's Palace. We stayed at the Rio - where I'd never stayed before - in a huge, very comfy suite. I learned how to play Roulette this trip... and played dozens and dozens of games of blackjack. All in all, tons of fun!
