The quality of sperm turned out to decrease after fertile age
After going beyond the fertile age range, then there are some changes in the quality of sperm. Based on a study conducted at the University of Otago, New Zealand, in 2014, the quality of sperm will decrease with age. In addition to reduced sperm volume, sperm velocity also decreased. As a result, sperm more difficult to reach the egg cell to carry on the process of fertilization.
Research has also shown a decrease in the quality of sperm morphology. Changes in terms of this form is important to note because it indicates the genetic content contained in the sperm. The existence of significant sperm deviation can complicate the occurrence of conception or cause problems of chromosomal abnormalities, one of which can increase the risk of Down syndrome in the fetus of the fruits.
