Who does not think of the future

Indahnya tanahku di atas negeri
Ribuan pulau menyapa senyum bijaksana
Indonesia tercinta tetumbuhan menghijau
Aku lahir di sini
The beauty of my land above the land
Thousands of islands greet smiles wise
Indonesia beloved the verdant vegetation
I was born here
Tanahku subur penjajah suka buahku
Mereka berkelana dari kejauhan
Mereka datang berbondong
In a heavenly place
My fertile land invaders like my fruit
They wandered from afar
They came in droves
Akhirnya mereka pergi dengan semangat alam
Penjajah pergi, penjajah lenyap
Sekarang diri menjarah diri
Hutan kita habis berkeping
Eventually they went with the spirit of nature
The occupiers go, the invaders are gone
Now self-ransacked
Our forests are gone
Sisa akar-akar yang suram
Satukan jemari, beri yang lain pencerahan
Cukup tanam satu tunas sehati
Atau lindungi yang sudah merambah
The rest of the roots are bleak
