Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson spoke out about his team's 1-3 defeat of Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Sunday (27/5) early morning GMT. Gareth Bale's two decisive victories scored by Gareth Bale were judged to be Loris Karius's big mistake, but Henderson did not feel that way.
Citing the standard, Henderson mentioned that his team lost due to a common mistake and they would bear the burden together as well. As a captain, Henderson put up a body to protect Karius.
"It's not about him (Karius)." We lost as a team, it's not just a one-person error, it's all about players, "Henderson said.
Furthermore, Henderson also admitted that Madrid deserved the title. He realizes that Madrid is a strong team that always has an opportunity to injure anyone their opponent.
"We know they (the Madrid) are a fantastic team and they will always hurt you, they deserve a win."
"In the 35th minute of the game we dominated possession and created several chances, which obviously frustrated me but we have to give praise to Madrid," he concluded.
