🌿Today we can witness a unique moment in the life of our wonderful 100-year – old Cikas drooping (Cycas revoluta) - a pearl and a real old-timer of our collection.
🌿From the center of the cones (megastrol) cycad you can watch "the fountain" - the generation of new leaves. At first, they have the appearance of light fluffy sprouts directed upwards. In this state, they can be quite long, up to a month. Then, from the Central axis, small folded spiral leaves begin to unfold. No wonder the Latin name of the species of cycads means "curled back", the leaves of the plant as development takes place relative to the longitudinal axis of the sheet. The deployment lasts about one to two weeks.
🌿Life expectancy of each sheet lasts from 3 to 10 years. And the life of the plant is not limited to decades: there is evidence that the sagovniki can grow in nature for more than 5,000 years.
