The word praise implies that we are commending, honouring, exalting, extolling or saying something good about someone.

As Christians, our definition of praise should be giving thanks, glory, honour and adoration to the lord, for who He is and for what He has done, what He is doing and what He is yet to do. It is also important for us to note that god alone deserves our praise(Psalm100:1-5).
Some people have formed the habit of giving their praises to men, because of the reward they are expecting from such men, having forgotten that God alone is worthy to be praised. He said He would not share His glory with any man; neither would He give His praise to idols(Isaiah 43:21).
