According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Indonesia is the third largest cigarette market in the world, just behind China and India, due to large population size.
Moreover, WHO also stated that Indonesia has the highest prevalence of male smokers in the world.
In addition, many smokers in Indonesia are included in the group of young smokers. Twenty percent of Indonesian teenagers, aged between 13 and 15 years, are smokers, according to Health Minister Nila Moeloek.
