Hi guys!!! Good day... How are you today?
The location that you see is one of the exact locations in one of the Pusong Lama Villages, Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Indonesia. The location is called the Lhokseumawe Pusong Reservoir, which has a length of 5 hectares and a width of about 5 hectares as well. Pusong Reservoir is flanked by 4 villages within the Banda Sakti sub-district, namely Pusong Lama Village, Keudee Aceh, Mongeudong, and Cunda Village.
Its location is very strategic in national stastik because it is very suitable to be made a tourism location. This is supported by its location as in the east directly bordering with the open sea which is the Indian Ocean, the west bordering the national road body where transportation back and forth from Banda Aceh and Medan City, while the northern region with the center of Lhokseumawe City, and the South at the apit by a small mountain range of Bukit Barisan Utara Sumatra.
So with a very strategic location so it is suitable to be used as a tourist location for residents both residents in the area and outside the area, especially for out-of-state travelers.
Origin of making Pusong reservoir
Basically the location is one of the small rivers where small Pusong fishermen make a living, the location where the estuary to the high seas is very suitable and strategic as an asset for small fishermen. But the government initially wanted to make an airport airport because some project controls were made as a reservoir.
The change of the project from the airport of the aircraft changed to the making of the Reservoir for several reasons that were impossible to make as an airport so that in 1998 the reservoir project was carried out and completed after 2005 years ago.
When the Pusong reservoir has been completed, a natural tourism location is seen naturally so that many residents from outside the area visit the site. So for small fishermen can still use the location as a place to make a living.
Its natural natural beauty will make you feel at home in it but there are no specific posts or other capacities that support it as a natural tourist location.
Used by local residents
As has been mentioned above that the location is utilized by residents both in the area or outside the area as a tourist location, especially for lovers of natural beauty is also used by local residents.
Local small fishermen who come from local villages make it as a location to make a living, because in the reservoir there are saltwater fish such as Mujair Fish, Snapper, Grouper, Watt, Galah Shrimp, and other small fish that have been inhabited since several decades ago. So that the community can become an economic asset of their family.
Likewise with the travelers they visited the location only to fish for small fish in it, the natural beauty around it became very interesting to enjoy while waiting for the fishing hook to be welcomed by the fish.
Other residents also do not stay silent in that matter like food vendors, they also take the opportunity in that regard. The food vendors provide the typical food of its citizens such as Aceh Noodles, Fried Rice, and other drinks that make you addicted when after enjoying it.
Government planning
As in the initial planning that the reservoir was made specifically to accommodate water drainage from urban areas to the reservoir location because in urban areas there are no water outlets during the rainy season or drainage of the population. Before the reservoir is finished, every flood season always occurs because of the greater water capacity so that floods occur. So for that reason the reservoir is used as a place of final disposal of household waste to avoid flooding in urban locations.
Such a large reservoir is not only useful for dealing with floods but also for others as you have read above. So that location is made as a promising regional tourist location. In addition, the public can also watch the sun rise and set at certain times, especially for you lovers of natural beauty.
Thus a brief review of the Lhokseumawe Pusong Reservoir which has been established since 2005. Hopefully what has been conveyed is useful. Thank you very much.
